It is hard to believe that I have now been living in Texas for a little over a year. I never in a million years thought I would 1. Live in Texas, 2. Feel somewhat at peace here. Last week, three of my best friends from Montana came for the weekend. I had the opportunity to show them some sights in and around San Antonio. We hiked on my favorite trails, dined at local restaurants and partook in Fiesta! Fiesta is quite a party around these parts in April and we dove in head first.
I was reminded how having your besties (new and old) by your side for multiple days can bring out the best in you. My heart had been filled with a happiness I cannot describe. My day job does not allow me to get out much for socialization so having some ladies around was a treat. I get caught up in my own life and day-to-day schedule that I forgot how much fun it is to let go and just enjoy life for a few days.
I am back into my routine again, but have a lifted spirit that is keeping me going. I don’t love Texas, but I don’t hate it either. The weather the last few months has been blissfully in the 70’ and 80’s and typically cooling off at night. This will change as we move into summer and I am bracing myself. Don’t get me wrong, I miss the mountains something fierce, but am making peace with where I am at right now. Mountain biking has been keeping me sane in my off time.
Life has taken me onto an interesting adventure while allowing me to market a business I have dreamed of facilitating for many years. As most of you know I don’t sit well, and will take off on a whim for any adventure that sounds fun! This job has allowed me to explore a state I never thought I would enjoy. There are still a few areas I need to explore here before I depart so feel free to join me.
Having my ladies here showed me that you can be at peace and happy wherever you are in your current life. They noticed that I was happy and content. My goal is to be living in the mountains someday again soon, but will make the best of where I am at now.
My goal with the Bigger Picture trips is to leave you feeling the way I do after a weeklong adventure with your newfound or current friends. Make peace with your life as it is. Make the best of what you currently have and where you are. Once you embrace peace you will move forward positively in the right direction with clarity and focus. And it can’t hurt to join in an adventure with me and the deadline to sign up for the Alaska trip is May 15th, just two weeks away! Take a chance, let’s have an adventure together – you will not regret it!
Peace be with you this week. Diana
